Singapore Airlines budget arm 'to launch in April'

SINGAPORE — Singapore Airlines (SIA) plans to launch its long-haul budget carrier in April with inflight Internet access among the attractions, a report said Tuesday.

SIA had no immediate comment on the details of the Straits Times story, which said the unit could be called Scoot Airlines.

The newspaper said the airline will start off with just one Boeing 777-200 before increasing its fleet to four aircraft within three months and 14 planes by mid-2016.

The firm is expected to serve destinations in Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand, it added.

New Livery for LOT Polish Airline's 787?

LOT Polish Airlines currently has eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order and during the Paris Air Show they unveiled an updated livery that will debut on the Dreamliner. The large “LOT” lettering and bird will remain, but with many other updated airline liveries, the cheat line running down the windows will disappear. The aircraft will be configured with 18 business class, 21 premium economy class and 213 economy class seats. LOT is set to be the first European airline to receive the 787 Dreamliner, starting in summer of 2012.
